Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between PPTCs and traditional fuses?

Traditional fuses must be replaced after they blow. PPTCs can automatically recover to a low-resistance state after troubleshooting, eliminating the need for manual replacement, significantly reducing maintenance costs and downtime.

Is PTC fast enough?

PPTC trip time depends on the overcurrent multiple, generally ranging from hundreds of milliseconds to seconds. It is suitable for continuous overcurrent protection scenarios. If microsecond-level ESD protection is required, it is recommended to use it in conjunction with a TVS diode.

What is the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?

ChenJia Technology has no minimum order quantity. We can provide quotes for prototypes of 10 pieces, small batches of 100 pieces, and mass production of over 100,000 pieces. Please contact us directly for an instant quote.

Is it in stock? How long is the delivery time?

Common part numbers are in stock at our Taipei warehouse, with the fastest shipping on the same day for urgent orders. For non-stock part numbers, lead time is generally 2-4 weeks, depending on manufacturer capacity.

Can you provide alternative material suggestions?

Certainly. Please provide the part numbers or specifications you are currently using, and our technical sales team will respond with alternative part comparisons and quotes within one business day.

Do you have products with AEC-Q200 automotive qualification?

Yes. Fuzetec's multiple PPTC series have passed AEC-Q200 automotive certification and are suitable for automotive applications such as ADAS, BMS, and charging piles. Please contact sales for detailed model information.

Can you provide the datasheet?

Yes. Please inform us of the required series and model numbers via the contact form or email (sales@shen-jia.com.tw), and we will provide complete specifications.

Is PPTC suitable for USB Type-C protection?

Excellent. The low resistance characteristics of the SMD and Low Rho series are particularly suitable for overcurrent protection design of USB Type-C VBUS.

What is the difference between PPTC and traditional glass tube fuses?

When a PPTC trips, it automatically resets and does not need to be replaced; a traditional fuse must be manually replaced after it blows. PPTCs are suitable for scenarios where maintenance is inconvenient, such as embedded devices and IoT devices.

PPTC's reaction time is approximately how fast?

The trip time of a PPTC depends on the overcurrent multiple, typically ranging from hundreds of milliseconds to several seconds. The higher the current, the faster the trip. For millisecond-level protection, it is recommended to use a TVS in conjunction.

How to choose between SMD and DIP packaged PPTCs?

SMD is suitable for space-constrained surface-mount boards, while DIP is suitable for through-hole designs or applications requiring higher current ratings. TAI JIA TECH can assist in recommending the optimal package based on your PCB layout.

Can Chenjia Technology provide PPTC samples?

Yes. Please inform us of the model and quantity you need through the inquiry form, and we will arrange for sample shipment and provide complete technical data.

Need a PPTC quote or technical support?

Provide part numbers or specification requirements, and we will respond with a quote within one business day.
